Poker Etiquette

I just had a quick question about proper "poker etiquette".

I called a guy's all in for a pot that was about 600$ and when the river came he says your good..but he won't muck his hand...He is basically waiting for me to show so he can muck....

Is it wrong for me to ask to see his hand after i know i have already won the pot?

P.S.
I like the new format by the way....the quote is also very suitable.

Sounds like he might have a little piece of the board and is hoping that YOU missed completely...you shouldn't just assume hes sitting there waiting to see your hand, and even if he is, he doesn't just want you to muck the winning hand right after him...I think it goes against etiquette to ask to see a losing hand like that...Generally, if the guy has already lost the pot, especially a big one, its good to let him save face by allowing him to much without showing - there's nothing wrong with showing the winner anyways...

I guess it also kinda depends on who called who. The person called is forced to show their hand. If they choose not to show then they forfeit the pot. The guy obviously had something but was 90% sure you had him beat. He probably learned the hard way in the past sometime when mucking bottom pair before the other player turned over ace high...anyway if it really comes down to it, the person who gets called shows first. If there is no action on the river then the small blind must show first then BB, etc.
