First Hand

This was a situation I faced on Sunday afternoon at the casino

I just got to the table (9-handed), sat down in the cutoff and was dealt 88

It folds to me and I make it $20 to go...button folds, SB($300) and BB($450) both call...

FLOP: A-K-7 (rainbow)

It goes check-check to me, so I continuation bet $45 as I have both an A and a K on board to help me out...SB folds, and BB thinks for about 35 seconds before calling...

TURN: 3 (two clubs on board)

BB checks to me...what do you generally do here? I dont know anything about the players except that BB is a woman...

Well Since its your first hand most people dont fuck around with bluffing on their first hand....I don't know if she thought about it like that but if i were in your situation i would fire once more at the pot (75$) bet or somewhere around there...She could be drawing for the straight but she isnt getting very good odds...or she might have a weak ace...if she called my bet on the turn my stubborn ass would probably go all in on the river and lose my money but i think 75$ bet on the turn would get her off her hand....

Women don't play as agressively as men and from my experience with women they usually call down hands and don't try to raise people off of their draws. I don't think you can make her lay this down and she could be as strong as AQ. I'd probably give up the hand and try to check it down but thats because its my first hand and I'm not going to play it as agressively.

we went check-check on the turn...the river was a rag and she bet something like $75? and I laid it down...she showed AA for top set...If she would have reraised me preflop to something like $45-$50, I would have called, then with that flop, if she checks, Id put her on something like QQ or JJ and I'd probably fire somewhere around $100...by slow playing her Aces she cost herself much more money...
